Leading and Sustaining Understanding by Design
Time Frame: (6 hours)
What are observable indicators of standards-based classrooms, schools and districts? How might we use standards to enhance our curriculum? What performance data can guide our school/district-improvement efforts? How should we support teachers in teaching "beyond the test" to focus on the "big ideas" and essential questions contained in the Content Standards? How can we work with teachers to examine student work as "data" for continuous improvement?
In this workshop, educational leaders will examine these questions as they consider specific actions for leading and sustaining Understanding by Design at the school and district levels.
Target Audience: School-based administrators, department chairs, team leaders, school improvement team members, district level staff.
